Raymond Mgbeokwere is the General Counsel, First Bank of Nigeria Limited & its Subsidiaries, a Director of First Dependants Nigeria Limited and First Nominees Nigeria Limited.
He is a seasoned Corporate Legal Practitioner with a stint in private practice before joining Nigeria International Bank Limited (now Citibank Nigeria Limited) in 1993 where he rose to become the Head, Legal Services & Public Affairs in 1999.
Raymond joined TriumphBank Plc in 1999 as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser & Head, Public Affairs – a role he held until of 2004.
Prior to joining the FirstBank in June 2011, he was the General Counsel/Corporate Secretary & Head, Corporate Services of Kakawa Discount House Group (now FBNQuest Merchant Bank Limited) from 2004 to May 2011. Over the course of his career, Raymond has had modest accomplishment in corporate finance, market development and unique local and cross border transactions.
A recipient of several academic and work-place Awards, Raymond was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991 and holds a Masters Degree in Law. He is an Alumnus of the Lagos Business School and has attended executive programs at top rated global institutions, including Harvard.
Happily married and blessed with children, Raymond is a Youth empowerment and leadership enthusiast.
